paste in 12 oz. cans, use 4 cans.
in 6 oz. cans, use 8 cans.
CONTADINA brand paste
(Use either Hunts or Contadina.
Your choice, but do not mix brand names. )
You may use either fresh or canned TOMATOES.
Amount is about
two (2) quart cans of Hunts canned tomatoes.
WATER: two cans of water to one can of paste.

** 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic salt.
** 1 Teaspoon Sweet Basil.
** 1/4 Teaspoon Oregano
** 1 Tablespoon salt ( heaping
** 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
( to control acid in tomatoes)
** 1/4 Teaspoon Black
** 1/4 of fresh green
pepper. (if in season)
** 1 Bay leaf (large
leaf or use 2-3 small to medium leafs)
** MEAT: Can use any of
Spare ribs, pork shoulder, pork roast, pork blades,
boneless beef chuck or rump.
Approximately 2 pounds Pork and 2 pounds Beef.
BROWN meat in a large sauce pot having a tight
cover, with 1/4 cup of olive oil over medium heat. Occasionally move meat
Put tomato and paste in the large sauce pan and add
COOK 3 1/2 TO 4 HOURS.
If using ribs add them in the last hour of cooking.
USE SLOW HEAT.
SLOW COOKING SO THAT MEAT AND SAUCE WILL NOT BURN.
