From the Book of John
|Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily,
verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he
seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the
|For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all
things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these,
that ye may marvel.
|For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth
them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
|For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all
judgment unto the Son:
|That all men should honour the Son, even as they
honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father
which hath sent him.
|Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my
word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall
not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
|Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming,
and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they
that hear shall live.
|For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he
given to the Son to have life in himself;
|And hath given him authority to execute judgment also,
because he is the Son of man.
|Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the
which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
|And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto
the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the
resurrection of damnation.
|Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me.
|In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were
not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
|And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be
|And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
|Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither
thou goest; and how can we know the way?
|Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and
the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
|If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father
also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
|Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and
it sufficeth us.
|Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with
you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath
seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
|Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the
Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but
the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
|Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father
in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
|Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on
me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these
shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
|And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I
do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
|If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
|If ye love me, keep my commandments.
|And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you
another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
|Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot
receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
|I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to
|Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more;
but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
|At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father,
and ye in me, and I in you.
|He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he
it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,
and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
|Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it
that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
|Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me,
he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come
unto him, and make our abode with him.
|He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and
the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
|These things have I spoken unto you, being yet
present with you.
|But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
|Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be
troubled, neither let it be afraid.
|Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and
come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I
go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
|And now I have told you before it come to pass,
that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
|Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the
prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
|But that the world may know that I love the Father;
and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go
From the Book of Ephesians
|For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
|Not of works, lest any man should boast.
From the Book of Revelations
|And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the
key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
|And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent,
which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
|And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him
up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more,
till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be
loosed a little season.
|And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and
judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were
beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which
had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received
his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and
reigned with Christ a thousand years.
|But the rest of the dead lived not again until the
thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
|Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first
resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be
priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
|And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall
be loosed out of his prison,
|And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in
the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together
to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
|And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and
compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire
came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
|And the devil that deceived them was cast into the
lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are,
and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
|And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on
it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was
found no place for them.
|And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before
God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is
the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which
were written in the books, according to their works.
|And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and
death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were
judged every man according to their works.
|And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death.
|And whosoever was not found written in the book of
life was cast into the lake of fire.
|And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the
first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more
|And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming
down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her
|And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be
|And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither
shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
|And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make
all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and
|And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and
Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst
of the fountain of the water of life freely.
|He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I
will be his God, and he shall be my son.
|But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the
abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and
idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which
burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
|And there came unto me one of the seven angels which
had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me,
saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
|And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and
high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem,
descending out of heaven from God,
|Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto
a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
|And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates,
and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the
names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
|On the east three gates; on the north three gates;
on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
|And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and
in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
|And he that talked with me had a golden reed to
measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
|And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as
large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve
thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are
|And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and
forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of
|And the building of the wall of it was of jasper:
and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
|And the foundations of the wall of the city were
garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was
jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an
|The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the
seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a
chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
|And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every
several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold,
as it were transparent glass.
|And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God
Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
|And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the
moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb
is the light thereof.
|And the nations of them which are saved shall walk
in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and
honour into it.
|And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day:
for there shall be no night there.
|And they shall bring the glory and honour of the
nations into it.
|And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing
that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie:
but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
From the Book of Romans
|For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am
carnal, sold under sin.
|For that which I do I allow not: for what I would,
that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
|If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto
the law that it is good.
|Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that
dwelleth in me.
|For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth
no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that
which is good I find not.
|For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which
I would not, that I do.
|Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do
it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
|I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is
present with me.
|For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
|But I see another law in my members, warring against
the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which
is in my members.
|O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from
the body of this death?
|I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then
with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of
